I have always wanted to paint the striking, gold statues on the Pont Alexander III in Paris, but the light was never correct. On this special evening, the golden sun was setting and it was creating deep, reflective shadows and colors on the statues and many colors in the sky. Adding just a bit of genuine gold leaf to the painting was a final touch to express my feelings.
