The Montmartre plaza is full of artists painting and selling their work. They must commit to being there every single day during their stay or find a juried replacement. The artists used to be ‘grand- fathered’ into the space but now, they are charged a fee after acceptance. After staining and applying texture on the watercolor paper, the design was drawn and then painted in watercolor. A fluid masking agent was painted only on the umbrella shape to retain the white of the paper.
