Janet uses her personal library of nature photography and past experiences camping and hiking throughout the USA as a basis for her artwork themes.
MessageI exhibit my framed textile artwork and oil paintings online at this website and do very little on social media. Rarely, I exhibit locally at art festivals and guild shows. I am pleased to exhibit a few works at one gallery in Lakeland, Florida. I enjoyed a great 10 years participating in the fine art show circuit in Florida, but it became physically challenging by 2024, which is why I now limit events. I am now more open to commissions than I previously allowed time for while I also expand my art challenges into new mediums. When the time is right, I'll be presenting examples of my new artworks created in textile or in oils on my website. Please check in again, to see what is new.

Statement
My oil paintings and textile art draw on my beloved nature and wildlife photography and creative sewing.
For textiles, I create whole cloth fabric painted quilts that are stitched. I use my hands to hold my quilt while machine stitching the detailing and sculpting the landscapes, seascapes and woodland or desert images by hand manipulation of the fabric. Framed textile art integrates archival materials and techniques used to frame heirloom needlework.
Each artwork, whether an oil painting on canvas or fabric painted stitched art is an original that is drawn, painted and framed by me.
