This painting is inspired by the borderlands and liminal spaces where the veils between the worlds are are at their thinnest: the threshold times between night and day, between wakefulness and sleep, and the transitions at the solstice.
Although it's reminiscent of the landscape where I live- the English/Welsh borders-it's not based on a particular place, but more on a certain atmosphere and the quality of the light.
It's painted using professional artist quality acrylics on deep-edge canvas, and has a layer of varnish for protection. It is unframed and has deep edges which are painted white.
