I have created a painting series honoring the instruments, music and culture that give me so much. My aim: to share with viewers the perspective of the musician - we are privileged to develop an intimate relationship with our instruments as we play and learn of their (and our own!) individual quirks and strengths. The beauty of the instruments, and what they can produce with dedication and practice, is nothing short
of awe-inspiring. This is my fiddle, a Sanctus-Serafini copy built in 1824, and bearing a multitude of scars, indicating a much-used, well-loved instrument. If ONLY it could talk!!
"Celtic Fiddle Study No. 1," shown in this picture, is available framed in a 6" wide custom double frame created to set off the painting.
