Calling attention to the computer’s act of memory processing, a computer is opened up and a contact microphone is placed on the hard drive. The clicking sounds of the hard drive as it seeks information are then re-routed back into the computer to drive sound-reactive software, creating its own generative sound and visual piece.
If our experience of reality is computer-generated, then SEEK attempts to flip this back onto that machine itself, using a computer system’s own physical, electrical, and mechanical processes to generate primitive sounds and visuals.
