The top of the artwork shows the lights turned inward to create the nail, and then inverted to create the negative space of the shadow. The spatial effect was rendered in a 3D program and then used to color the LED filters to recreate it.

A nail was sticking out of the wall after a painting was removed... The spotlight now shown on this single nail which cast an elongated shadow on the wall. The nail and the shadow has a binary relationship, connected but opposite of each other.
