Years ago someone told me that once you get sand in your shoes you can never get it out. After moving away from the beach where I lived for a few years, I discovered the proverb was true. The sound of gulls, the aroma of the sea and the touch of the sun remains with me wherever I go. This painting is an expression of my love of the beach and the water. The canvas size a departure from the standard artist canvas. I delight in painting on exaggerated canvas shapes. The long and narrow shapes and saturated colors convey a more contemporary landscape style.
