The beauty and splendour of the pendant catkins against the ultramarine sky are to be marvelled at.
This unusual large-winged wingnut tree, Pterocarya macroptera var. insignis, is a member of the walnut family and stands as a magnificent addition to a Kent arboretum. It is captured in full flowering, with its dramatic long female catkins and pinnate foliage illuminated by the warm bright sunlight.
Autumn bounty is promised, the tree will bear small two-winged nuts.
