MessageINA LORETA SAVICKIENĖ
Ina Loreta Savickienė is a Lithuanian artist based in Vilnius. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Vilnius University, and her artistic practice reflects an ongoing interest in human perception explored through a relationship with nature.
She began painting in 2011 after encountering East Asian ink traditions, including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean painting. Over time, her parallel work as a psychologist and artist evolved into a full-time artistic practice.
Savickienė works with ink and mineral pigments on rice paper. In 2020, she was granted the official status of Art Creator by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. She has held over 10 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
Statement
My work explores the relationship between material, gesture, and perception. Working with ink and mineral pigments, I create atmospheric spaces where form emerges gradually and often remains suggestive rather than fixed.
The process balances control and chance: the brushstroke is deliberate, yet the material is allowed to act. Color functions as light and air, while background becomes an active field rather than a neutral surface.
Drawing from both East Asian painting traditions and the Northern European landscape, my work invites a contemplative experience of time, stillness, and natural change.
