Montenegro Ediciones-Proyectos de impresión is a fictitious publishing house that allows me to create print-on-demand projects. Series of limited edition book covers and posters. Digital prints on 300gr Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper or similar. Sizes A1 or A2.
Painting Award Editorial Almuzara, Cordoba, Spain.
In 2022 I was a finalist in the I Editorial Almuzara Painting Prize 2022, with the work La escritura y la casa. I was again a finalist in 2023, in its new edition, II Editorial Almuzara Painting Prize, with the work La mesa del editor.
The world of books. Hybrid representations
For both editions of the prize, Editorial Almuzara proposed as a single theme, the world of publishing and books. For both my work, La escritura y la casa, 2022, and La mesa del editor, 2023, I used fictional representations and compositions of book covers. Working with alternating digital and material supports made the painting experience very exciting. I decided to continue exploring these new territories of hybrid representation.
Exploring Territories. Digital Media
Digital media has always attracted my attention. Designing both fictional book covers and posters that can be reproduced individually seems like a good project to me. I can expand my creative territories by delving deeper into composition and typography. I have an unlimited variety of flat designs, clean contours and a scalable frame. I can print my files at different sizes and on different media. Most importantly, it allows me to experiment, reuse and reinterpret my large body of work.
Montenegro Editions print projects
To structure this whole project, I needed a flexible framework. This framework had to accommodate and organize the different themes, formats and printing modes that my project required. What better than a publishing label. Montenegro Ediciones seemed like a good name to bring together all my print projects.
