The Golpe Seco series consists of ten works on paper measuring 32 x 35 cm. Mixed media: gouache, acrylic, and acrylic inks on discarded printmaking proofs.
Golpe seco is a term used in printing. It is a finishing technique that creates a raised effect, both in typography and drawings.
The discarded printmaking proofs originate from a square plate. I decide to crop them into a rectangle so that the new composition has a good margin at the bottom. In this way, I manage to stylize the square shape. I am fascinated by the raised print I find on the discarded printmaking proof. I decide that this reverse relief and the cobalt color will be the common thread.
