Hut and garden.
This work is part of a series entitled Caseta y jardín, which I started in 2020. This series consists of about twenty works on paper, in addition to this piece on heavyweight paper glued to plywood.
Gardens, plots and cabins
Summer of 2020. The previous months of confinement have been hard and strange. In summer I have a garden to move around in. The contact with these planes of color and form, influence in the search, conceptual, of another space to work more airy and balanced. Building a hut in a garden is a metaphor.
Drawing is building
My main tool to give form is drawing. Drawing is the link that can give form to what is in itself vaporous or intangible; ideas.
Since I can't build myself a hut in a garden for now, I draw it. As I draw, it takes shape and becomes real. It only remains to contemplate licenses, taxes and gold. In the meantime, I allow myself to create new and different models of cabins, both plot and construction. So I have more options to choose from.
New directions
With this work, I try to go beyond the garden by extending the territory to concepts of agricultural production and urbanism. This work is the basis for a new series entitled Agriculture and Technology, Agro Tech, which I will begin in 2022.
The work, Ampliación de la parcela, was a finalist in the XXVII International Prize Francisco de Zurbarán, Villa de Fuente de Cantos, Badajoz. Spain
