My visual arts practice is based in Hamilton, Ontario and incorporates photography and painting. I have a tendency to work intuitively, with recurring themes including the relationships between humans and nature, the experience of being a pedestrian, ambiguous found signs, and natural ecosystems. My inspirations include traditions of street photography, documentary photography, landscape painting, and literature.
Since received a BFA (Honours) in Photography Studies and the Faculty of Communication & Design Gold Medal from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2002, my artwork has been published in The Walrus and Prefix Photo and has been exhibited and collected in Canada, U.S.A. and Ireland. It can be found in collections including The Image Center (TMU), Deloitte, OPSEU Pension Trust, RBC Financial Group (NYC) and Scotiabank.
I have participated in charitable art projects, am a past board member of Hamilton Artists Inc, and work as academic staff within the Photography Centre at OCAD University. Between 2002-2022 my artwork was represented by Mira Godard Gallery in Toronto and since then, I have maintained an independent studio practice and begun exhibiting internationally. Recently, I have been awarded a Canada Council for the Arts: Arts Abroad / Travel Grant to expand my career in Ireland (2025).
