Hugh is an Irish & Canadian artist currently based in Hamilton, Ontario. His interest in art led to studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he received a BFA (Photography Studies, Honours) as well as the Faculty of Communication and Design Gold Medal (2002). 

Hugh's art practice incorporates photography, drawing, painting and writing. His work has been published in The Walrus, Prefix Photo and 198 Magazine, and has been exhibited and collected in North America and Europe.

His artwork is represented in art collections including The Image Center (TMU), Deloitte, OPSEU Pension Trust, RBC Financial Group (NYC) and Scotiabank.

Recently, Hugh has been awarded a Canada Council for the Arts: Arts Abroad / Travel Grant to expand his career in Ireland (2025).
