This is a portrait of Henry Crookall. Herbert Crookall was the founder of Pioneer Boys of America, which was established in 1938. It eventually became the Pioneer Boys and Girls of America, a group that has donated over $50,000 for HCCC Scholarships for students from West Hudson and North Arlington. Herbert Crookall and his brother Henry Crookall ran the organization. After Herbert died in the 1972, Henry Crookall led the Pioneer Boys and Girls of America for many years. These pastel portraits were made by Chester Bloom in the 1970s. Grateful acknowledgement is made to the Pioneer Boys and Girls of America for the donation of these portraits.
