Autumn Repose Series
I love the endless variety of autumn leaves! Their imperfect and transient beauty speaks to my soul and delights my eyes.
Looking Ahead, Looking Behind
They started as examples for the pastel class. I forget why but I spent time analysing why their references spoke to me. The jay looking over his shoulder, could it be worried? ... about the consequences of its actions? The owl peeking around a corner, could it be anxious? ... about what the future will bring? Perhaps I am projecting. ;) Even though the owl is beautiful and the jay colorful the underlying current is what I think attracted me. I'm forever looking back in self-doubt and ahead in anxious anticipation. Creating art helps me be in THIS moment.
