Three colored lights and one raven skull. That is all yet it is more. The colors mix and become more than they were by themselves. The skull too is now more, draped in all the colors like the emotions we attach to death.
I love this painting that almost wasn't. It taught me a few things: patience, persistence & process. Patience to create the reference I wanted. Persistence when things don't go well and trust in the process I've created.
What started as a simple exercise became a mental deep dive into death and how we color it with our emotions. So far in this series, a raven is depicted once in each piece.
Currently unframed & price reflects this.
