Artist Statement:
As a child, my family lived abroad in multiple countries. This work shows the full moon over a historic building in Assos, Turkey, where my itinerant parents were living at the time. In the moonlight, traces of the modern world are hidden, creating a sense of mystery and timelessness and reminding me that no matter where (or when) we might be, we all gaze up in wonder at the same moon.
Technique:
The work is a woven tapestry. It was woven on a small standard tapestry loom (frame loom) at 8 ends per inch.
