BACK STORY....
Back in 2013 when I originally created Lodz 1321 after returning from a trip to Poland, I was just beginning to incorporate my digitally manipulated photographs into my quilted works. At that time, I was using my small desktop printer and printing out 8x10 images on (paper-backed) silk, sewing them together to create the whole image. Shortly after that, I found a high-quality printing firm that prints the whole image on fabric, which I have been using ever since.
Recently I was going through some of these early works only to find that the quality of my desktop printing left much to be desired compared to those from the commercial printer that followed. And so, I began re-making some of them as "whole cloth" prints, which are considerably better versions. This is digitally manipulated photography, printed on organic cotton sateen, hand quilted, gallery wrapped on stretched canvas, and framed.
