Henk Weijers is a contemporary visual artist from the Netherlands, living in Malaysia. His work explores the tension between structure and spontaneity.

After a long international career as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, Henk finally gave in to his lifelong urge to create art. Throughout his career he remained fascinated by art and by the beautiful things made by people from different cultures.

Henk’s artwork is shaped by two opposing forces: impulse versus discipline. His paintings reflect the balance between his creative nature and an almost compulsive tendency to apply rules and structure—an instinct resulting from decades of engineering work. These contrasting energies meet on the canvas. His work sits at the intersection of abstraction and design.

Deeply concerned about the fate of the courageous and resilient people of Ukraine, Henk donates all proceeds from the sale of his artwork to support them.
