Yuj, in Sanskrit, means to join, yoke or unite. This painting happened at a time when I was painting an immersive series called 'inner landscapes'. I don't think that series will end any time soon. While painting Yuj, I was focusing on city dwellers and the colors of the night that seem to fly across from building to building. Separated by brick and mortar but every living being connected via so many elements. I love seeing cities late at night, when the chaos of the day dies down and the interconnectedness is like an invisible web hanging in the skies.
