I’m playing a game tonight, inspired by #nataliegoldberg What is dark? What is light? Watermelon is light. The wind is dark. Painting can be light and dark. Briefcases are dark. Peace is light. Dreams are light. Think of the word first… umbrellas… light or dark? I started this painting thinking everything comes from the dark void. As I finish it, the last painting of 2023, it shows me that light and the dark are intermingled and dance together. I am an artist and on good days, it breaks me wide open, receptive to dark and light. Happy New Year my dear fellow humans. 🌺
