Collaboration with John Gardner

Within this piece, we set out to create a portrait of Juanita, but rather than to use the traditional bust form, we used an interpretation of this using 3D forms, created from 2 dimensional shapes, layered to form depth and feeling. I believe there is a sadness and vulnerability withing the piece as well as the strength and courage that she personified during her life.
