I am an Australian artist, creative person, author and personal development coach, living a semi rural life. I have lived loved and lost in equal measure and am inspired by light, sound, nature and always amazed at the beauty that surrounds us.
I notice how flowers and trees love to dance, clouds can become dragons and animals, images of loved ones or messages from spirit, and mud splodges can become cats.
I paint from the heart capturing emotion and energy of the life around me and based on places and spaces that have been part of my life. Each canvas holds its own story and together we create art.
No formal art schooling I learn through doing. I think it was Brett Whitley that said to Cressida Campbell, "If you want to learn to paint lock yourself in a boathouse for three months and paint." Perhaps 2017 to 2024 was my boathouse. I have always drawn, doodled and painted as a creative being and began to reengage with art fully in 2017 seeking training with a local artist. I am now confident enough to offer up my art to others.
I enjoy energy that is created on a big canvas and have been relishing a combination of brush and palette knife layering colour and texture. Mostly painting in acrylics but loving oils as well.
As a creative I also make 'flass poppies' for fun and am the author of 'Heart Connection' and 'Its time Wake Up' books based on personal reflection, learning and development reminding people we are all connected by heart and providing tools for their journey.
Statement
One thing I know is paintings are like well written books, they open doorways to the imagination, touch the heart and provoke thought and opinion, both positive and negative and somewhere in between.
All art captures something of the artist at the time of creation that then touches the essence of the viewer.
Couldn't image life without Art.
