This painting is a master copy of Lifting Fog Laguna by Guy Rose. Master copies give artists the chance to learn from the past—studying brushwork, color choices, and composition in a hands-on way. As I worked, I noticed the gentle shifts of light in the sky, the softness of the fog as it touched the hills, and the calm movement of the water. I enjoyed painting it and grew in appreciation of Rose’s skill.
