Heather Graham is a Utah-based fine artist whose work is shaped by a lifelong attentiveness to beauty and faith. Growing up, she learned through her parents’ example to recognize God’s presence in everyday life—in nature, in moments of stillness, and in the details that often go unnoticed. This way of seeing continues to inform her approach to painting today.
Heather earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Brigham Young University and began her career in design and advertising before turning fully to fine art. She pursued classical training at the Beaux-Arts Academy under painter Joseph Brickey and later continued her studies under J. Kirk Richards at the JKR Academy. She has also taken workshops with artists she admires, including Kathleen Dunphy, Josh Clare, Dan Wilson, and Michael Malm. These experiences refined her technical foundation and clarified her artistic voice. She and her husband, Michael, co-founded Masterworks Frames, a fine art framing studio serving artists, galleries, and temples internationally. Heather creates original oil paintings—including landscapes and sacred figurative work—inspired by the beauty she observes in God’s creation.
Statement
I am inspired by the gift and miracle of life and the incredible beauty found in nature. Painting is a way for me to study the natural world in an effort to express the loveliness I see. I feel that there is poetry found in the flight of birds, dancing movements of a river, light streaming through clouds, and shimmering sunlit trees in a field—all are subjects for exploration and joy. I feel that visual art is also like music in many ways and try to compose what I experience with rhythm, staccatos, crescendos, soft passages, and atmosphere. I am truly grateful for this beautiful world that God created.
