When I produce paintings, hand pulled prints and drawings my aim is to experience what I’ve heard described as spiritual or sublime or divine.
I was inspired at a very young age to paint the beauty and power of strong shapes and colors I saw in Quebec landscapes. With time, I saw this strength and power as spiritual, divine or sublime.
Today I create works that resonate with this experience inside of me. To show this, I developed a technique that combines and overlays contemporary art concepts on Celtic Art traditions and the Medieval Manuscript tradition.
This overlay is produced as one drawing per day, one painting per week and one hand pulled print edition per month. Paintings are usually created in a series of 25 artworks.
