Message
We were walking our dog Rix when we realized we were in a special place in nearby Askew Park in Chemainus. The light filled the space and created a spiritual sound around us. So we stayed for a while to absorb the beauty and the energy and the spirit of the woods.
Later when I was painting in the studio with a student, she asked how to free up one's thinking to a freer kind of painting. I set us a time limit of 15 minutes to start and complete a painting - then I took out my sketches of our walk through Askew Park and we started to paint. Here is the result. I am quite happy with this free and joyful version of Paradise. Once more we are grateful for the Paradise that is Vancouver Island.
