Ronnie came to my studio in Saltair during the summer of 2022 and fell in love with an earlier large 48 x 60" canvas. The 48 x 60 was painted shortly after I had had a small stroke. The Nanaimo Stroke Recovery Clinic had instructed me to live a calm life and had advised me that learning to live with calm was to be my part in the stroke recovery process. Ronnie didn't have a wall space big enough for the 48 x 60 so she asked me to paint a smaller version of it. Fortunately my health and my life circumstances have calmed since I had painted the earlier 48 x 60 so this painting is calmer than the earlier larger canvas.
