MessageThe village kitchen in Cote d'Ivoire is the 'foyer', the hearth, the center of family life, where the food is, where mom is. Stools and chairs are strewn around for whomsoever will, and the ground is swept clean of all debris every morning. Women smoke fish caught in the lagoon on wire racks on top of oil drums, preserved for later. No need for a fridge. Wood is axed into shape and ready for use, and if your coals from should go cold, there is always a neighbor you can borrow from.
