Born to Dutch dairy farmers in LA, lived life cross-culturally, especially in Africa , now pursuing my first love, making art.
MessageIn Africa, we lived by a sprawling palm plantation. Hectares and hectares of palm-nut trees that all looked the same. Sometimes we'd be invited for a festive dinner on the other side of the plantation. Driving through the night was a little spooky: this was pre-cell phones, pre-google maps, and one could get lost without a clue of which way was home.
And then there were the owls. Magical mystical owls planted in the middle of the road, blinded by the headlights.
