Statement
Nature gives a special medicine. This magic, this medicine is like nothing else. I am continually inspired by it in the most curious and powerful ways. Rhythmic nature is all around us and even a part of us. That connection interests me greatly…
My current body of work combines vintage wind and string instrument cases and parts with encaustic. Some pieces are illuminated, many are sculptural and include repurposed or found objects. I find bees wax and resin to emulate nature's elements. Working with this medium for over fifteen years it has combined my skills in painting with my love for sculptural building.
My process is propelled by experience and memory. I create these pieces using a working collection of objects, sketch book drawings and plans. Fueled, inspired, intention determines the final product.
