Hannah Luxton
Essex
Contemporary British artist, Slade School of Art, UK graduate and Arts Council supported painter, concerning the natural sublime and the transcendental realms
MessageLuxton’s ‘Starstream’ paintings are inspired by visions of Icelandic waterfalls, combined with the cosmic phenomenon of the Stellar Stream: stars that move together in a line by the gravitational pull of a galaxy. Luxton depicts the stars as multicoloured orbs are suspended in the white powdery spray of a waterfall, which evoke the fun childhood image of beach balls. She creates her stars with a luminous traditional oil medium, in which yellows, greens, pinks and blues are suspended, all merging into one.
