This portrait is made after a photo. I wanted to make it natural looking, so I decided to work on natural linen. The background was created first with acrylic paint and oils using stencils and splatters. On it i sketched man and dog roughly in in acrylic before blocking in. After I was satisfied with the look, I started details using a few layers of oil in a limited pallet. I also reworked the background a bit in oil.
