This was painted while Michael Haney was in the hospital/ still alive. The colors are bright but twisty and curvy like his last 6 months of life in the hospital. Much of the time was spent preparing to bring him home with various discharge dates that never came to fruition. Six months is a long time to endure in a hospital, then a rehab, then back to the hospital several times. During that time we had our last New Year's together. I dressed up and brought champagne to his hospital room. We even had friends come and share the occaison. Happy New Years in a hospital room!!
