Amy’s love of nature and science began as a child, when she was most at home finding and identifying insects, amphibians, and flowers in her backyard and family garden (a practice that she continues to this day!)
Her curiosity about the natural world led her to Cornell University, where she earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology. While at Cornell, she enjoyed classwork in everything from horticulture to fungi, beekeeping to microscopy.
Creating art has been a lifelong pursuit, from drawing and painting to making ceramics and mosaics, and Amy loves combining her interests in art and science to illustrate subjects in nature. Working in both digital techniques as well as traditional media, she hopes her work inspires an appreciation of the natural world and a desire to protect its rich biodiversity.
Amy lives in Freeville, NY with her husband and daughter, one dog, twenty-three chickens, and ten fish, as well as a resident fox, skunk, and family of garter snakes.
