Both a celebration and critique of consumerist culture, Ben Frost’s work is paradoxically a love/hate affair with the colours, icons and logos of the advertising world that we are obsessively immersed within.
One of his series of works consists of acrylic paintings on McDonald’s French Fry packaging. Happy Meal to Super sized, the familiar red and yellow Golden Arches containers feature hand-painted pop culture icons, super heroes, images reminiscent of Lichtenstein’s pop art, cartoons, Japanese Manga, universal Iconography and more.
This work is also noticeably influenced by Roy Lichtenstein
