MessageGOLDIE GILLIS
PT. PRIM, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
Goldie Gillis has been 'Island Hopping": born in Newfoundland, raised in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and living in PEI for the past 52 years. Her need to create has been evident, working with seaglass, seashells ,driftwood and now with paint. Goldie's passion for painting was inspired by her artist mother in law, who gave her the first lesson. A series of lessons from Island Artist Henry Purdy nurtured her desire to learn more .She meets weekly with the Art and Soul Group.
Working in acrylic, and most recently in oil, Goldie has spent the past 20 years exploring the locales and seaside scenery of Pt. Prim and Eastern PEI. Her creative process moves her to capture the beauty of the 'Master Creator" to share with others, enabling the healing power of ART.
Goldie is a "newbie" to plein air painting but is exploring further this new found joy. Her participation in the Bermuda Plein Air Festival in November of 2025 was an amazing experience in her journey of learning.
