When a hatchling breaks through its hard shell and climbs up out of the sand, this newborn creature has no understanding of direction or purpose on its own. It can either move toward the land or make its way to the sea. Above, a bright light reflects off the water, and, by instinct alone, it follows it.

Jesus tells us, “I am the light of the world.” John 8:12
“Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

As followers of Jesus Christ, that same good inclination lives within us. His light directs our course when we do not know the way. When we follow Him, we are led out of darkness and into life—life at its fullest now, and life eternal forever with Him, our Creator.
