MessageThis beautiful log perched itself along the sandstone rocks by the lighthouse during a stormy day in February. It caught the eye & hearts of many of us as it stayed in all its grandeur from one high tide to the next. It was hollow at the one end only, and lucky for us that it had positioned itself with the hollow end facing the shore. During a low tide we could still go out and inspect it but during the high tide, it was nice to still be able to observe it this way. On May 1st, some log salvagers out of Victoria, came and hooked up the log and took it away. We are all hoping that it has gone to benefit someone else but clearly in a different way, whether as building supplies for a home or furniture and thus I gave it the name of 'The People's Log as it was for all of us.
