Many items are either made of silk or adorned with colorful silk threads making the open markets in Kaili, China, a riot of colorful threads. This baby is learning young to test the quality of silken strands while her Mother works the Saturday street market. The area is home to many Miao Minority People.
I created this painting as part of the "China Minorities-American Perceptions" show.
