Here is Bridget, a young opera singer, near my mother’s antique piano running through the melodies and counting down the beats on her knuckles and in the quiet of her mind before springing into action and filling my home with rich vocals. There is an enthusiasm just beneath the surface as we wait for that first glorious note to be set free.
