GJ Moyle Collection
Auckland
Military Art collected by Greg Moyle painted/sketched by both artists who served and contemporary artists who thought about it.
MessageGreg Moyle is an Art Collector and Military Historian Extraordinaire and has acquired a unique collection of military art, commemorative sculptures, medallions and archives. He joined the New Zealand Territorials, serving in the peace keeping forces at Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands where he developed an interest in New Zealand military history and in particular, New Zealand's war artists. Greg believes it is important to maintain the public interest in NZ’s military history and legacy and is generous in lending his artworks for exhibitions. Ultimately these artworks and archives are intended to become part of a public collection for display.
When he is not collecting, Greg has many civil roles being an Auckland City Councillor, Local Board Chair with various trustee roles and committees. He has also been involved with the Le Quesnoy Museum project, Mt Albert Grammar School and Ranfurly Veterans Trust; the latter two exhibiting a selection of his artworks for public display and appreciation.
