There are times when the magic of a place, the mystery of a particular scent or colour pervades the senses. This apple tree was growing in abundance long before the artist bought the little terraced house where the summer sun casts its warm rays. Effervescent fragrant blossoms break the Spring season followed by a profusion of bright green leaves and the emerging fruit. By some miracle these fruit develop into very large cooking apples which can be stored all winter. A harvest indeed and a place to sit on the grass beneath its majestic beauty.
