Fading Away is a collaborative photograph by Gayle & John Reichelt based on a theme of explaining the life cycle of stars and the nature of other wonders in our skies by combining images.
Stars age in two ways. Large stars explode as supernovas. Smaller stars like our sun age gracefully by puffing off their outer layers. Large stars explode as supernovas, leaving a remnant of material to spread out in a circular fashion. This portion of the circular remnant of a supernova is called Veil Nebula.
