"Overhead" is a reflection of the feeling of living with high anxiety and the constant pressure of feeling watched. This piece was created during a time of traveling in my hometown in Japan, where the feelings of not feeling “Japanese” enough and the pressures of feeling anxiety were preventing myself from staying present. The eyes featured resemble the eyes frequently depicted on edo-era ghosts, showcasing the line between horror and humor.
