Raised by a Hungarian mother and Slovak‑American father, Helen discovered her love for art, literature, nature, and science early on. This vibrant mix of cultural and intellectual curiosity shaped her path through local art programs in high school and into formal studies—culminating in a BA from Albright College and an MFA from Ohio University.
Helen’s work—spanning painting, drawing, textiles, relief, wood, paper, and paint—has been exhibited across the U.S. in venues like Dalton Gallery, Alpharetta Arts Center, Distillery of Modern Art’s Watson Gallery, Muse & Co Fine Art, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, ARC Gallery (Chicago), Dairy Barn (Athens, OH), and Abington Art Center (greater Philadelphia). She’s also a former member of Philadelphia’s cooperative Zone One Gallery.
As an arts professional, Helen taught art and graphic design for years and served as Gallery Chair at the Art Institute of Atlanta Gallery. Her design career includes textile and graphic work abroad—in Hangzhou, China and Taichung, Taiwan—as well as creative project management for a multinational healthcare technology company.
In addition to her studio practice, Helen has worked behind the scenes to support the arts in Georgia. She was part of the team at the Hambidge Center, one of the Southeast’s most respected artist residencies, and collaborated with the Urban Art Collective in Chamblee to help raise the visibility of public art. These experiences deepened her commitment to sustaining creative communities and supporting other artists.
Helen lives in Marietta, a thriving suburb just north of Atlanta, with her husband Chris, their son Lewis, and their very spoiled cat, Daisy. She works out of a studio in nearby Roswell—a town better known for fine dining than visual art—where she’s building a growing presence in the local creative community. She exhibits regularly across the metro Atlanta area and is deeply engaged with the region’s evolving arts scene.
