MAPLE LEAF BAR AND FRENCHY GALLERY TO  AGAIN HOST MUSICIAN INTERVIEW SERIES BETWEEN JAZZ FEST WEEKENDS

The Maple Leaf Bar (8316 Oak Street) and its next-door-neighbor - the Frenchy Gallery (8314 Oak Street) – are pleased to announce the continuation in 2018 of their interview series spotlighting legendary Louisiana musicians in extended conversations on the weekday afternoons between weekends of Jazz Fest. The “Maple Leaf  Bar Interviews At Frenchy’s” launched in 2017 with interviews of George Porter, Jr., Johnny Vidacovich and Ellis Marsalis – and continue in 2018 with Grammy winners Philip Frazier, co-founder of the Rebirth Brass Band; and Louis Michot – co-founder of the Lost Bayou Ramblers -  plus multi-award winning guitarist and vocalist Walter “Wolfman” Washington. The series is co-hosted by the bar and gallery; will take place at the gallery (8314 Oak Street) on the afternoons of Monday, April 30, 2018 – Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and Wednesday, May 2, 2018 – at 2 pm each afternoon - and feature:

MONDAY, APRIL 30TH – PHILIP FRAZIER

TUESDAY, MAY 1ST – LOUIS MICHOT

WEDNESDAY, MAY 2ND – WALTER “WOLFMAN” WASHINGTON

The 45 minute interviews will be conducted by Edward R. Murrow award-winning radio producer and interviewer Fred Kasten. The interviews are free and the public is invited, though seating is limited.  Renowned New Orleans artist Frenchy – best known for his live paintings of music performances and sporting events - will be on hand to capture the interviews on canvas.
