Castle

Stirling Castle is one of the sights I look forward to seeing any time I travel from my home in Stonehaven to Glasgow.
It’s a welcome sign that the bulk of the journey is behind you and thanks to its impressive location, it is hard to miss.
Like Dunnottar and Edinburgh Castles you have to look up to see it, and like in most of my paintings of these castle it sits right at the top of the picture. This provides a great excuse to play around as much as you like with all the rest of the canvas.
As you may have guessed that’s the bit I enjoy most, especially when I can use my favourite hot red, cool green colour combinations.
