My collection of thoughts and drawings were the inspiration for my work ‘A New South Wales Journey’ and an exploration into my interest in negative space, form and colour.
The composition is worked through on the surface and built up with collected forms, hidden in some areas and partially visible in others. This adds to the materiality of the work and evokes a conversation about the relationships they have with each other and the overall composition.
Rather than focus on the specifics and physicality of a singular place, I hope to convey an assembled landscape, which is fluid and changeable, as are memories that evolve as time goes by.
